It's no biggie. Flat forum - people think you are shouting when speaking quietly, think you are responding to them when you have not even read their post - just the crud that is inherent with forums.
The issue is an issue lol - bug or design. Redoing it the Sony way is one option. It could still work in the context of the current UI/the joystick buttons - and just be coded with a pop up box - with do you wish to save. The key is to have an explicit approval box with yes and no answers with the default option as no - so the user actively has to move across to yes. It prevents inadvertently clicking a button and the ohhh shit moment of realising you have inadvertently overwritten your game/game state.
I inadvertently did the very same as you guys are speaking of.
If you use a differing controller as I am. Well, you gain in terms of response in game, but given the buttons aren't mapped or correspond to those on the joystick or UI prompts - you can easily delete your games.
Once you figure out what button does what and write it down, you don't tend to get caught out again, but yea it can still easily happen and a friend or child having a go of your mini can still easily wipe a game off the basic save states by accident.
It's good to keep some favourite games in the basic save states and not bugger them up.
Won't be as bad once firmware allows for games on USB stick - but even then it could wreck seasons in football manager or any save in a game with depth.
